The Opinel 1540 sharpening stone is a natural stone from the quarries of Lombardy, Italy. This stone is perfect for sharpening your Opinel knife. Since the 15th century these stones are known for their sharpening qualities. The constant and balanced presence of quartz and carbonates in the rock provide excellent sharpening results. This stone is particularly suitable for regular maintenance on your knives. When you would like to sharpen a very dull blade, it is a good idea to start with a coarser stone. Because of its shape, it is also suitable for sharpening other tools like axes and spades. This grinding stone has to be used with water.
